Page structure and page elements in Q.wiki

Every page in Q.wiki follows the same structure and contains several key elements. This article gives you an overview of the four main areas of a Q.wiki page: page header, page content, right sidebar, and metadata area.

Page header

The page header gives you important information about the page at a glance:

2StatusColour-coded: Approved = green, Draft / Change proposal = yellow.
3Page typeIndicates the type of page. Can be changed in the metadata.
4Area of applicationCan be adjusted in the metadata.
5Last authorAutomatically recorded by the system.
6Page ownerThe person responsible for the content. Can be changed in the metadata.
7Approved byShows the people involved in the approval (with the standard 2-step approval workflow, this means 2 people).
8Approval dateAutomatically recorded by the system.
9Version numberAutomatically incremented by one with each approval.

Page content

The main area of the page contains the actual content in tabular form. It covers the specific topic of the page – including responsibilities, roles, and documents you need to carry out the relevant task.

Right sidebar

The right sidebar gives you access to additional page functions:

Metadata area

The metadata area is located as a table at the very bottom of the page, below the content area. To change the metadata, click Edit (or Suggest change and then Edit) and scroll all the way down.
