Editing content (functions of the editor)

Modified on Mon, 24 Apr 2023 at 01:47 PM

In edit mode of a page, the following settings can be made via the editor:

  1. Undo Step, Restore.
  2. The paragraph format is changed. This means you can choose from different formats, e.g. headings, which are then in turn automatically recognised for a table of contents.
  3. The font can be bold, italic or underlined. By clicking again, the setting can be removed.
  4. The style of a font can be changed. (red text, yellow or green marker).
  5. The formatting of the marked text is deleted. This function is particularly important when copying content from other programmes, such as Word. The keyboard shortcut for formatless pasting is Shift+Ctrl+V. See also: Paste content from other sources (Word, web pages, etc).                                                                                                                             Tip: If a formatting has been selected for a word or a line of text, it can be removed again by selecting the corresponding formatting and clicking on it again.
  6. A numbered list or a list of bullet points is added. In addition, the indentation of sections can be reduced or enlarged.
  7. Links can be inserted. The instruction Set Links explains this in more detail.
  8. Contents can be inserted

        9. A citation block can be created. This can be useful if code is to be deposited. The citation block does not execute it.

      10. A collapsible paragraph is added.

  • A collapsible paragraph allows sections of the page to be collapsed.
  • After insertion, the name can be changed by double-clicking on "Collapsible paragraph".

       11. A role can be added. For details see role management in the Q.wiki

By clicking on the arrow on the right side, additional advanced functions can be used:

  • Whether the paragraph is left or right aligned, centred or justified can be selected.
  • The font and size can be changed.
  • Words or letters can be superscripted or subscripted.
  • Special characters can be inserted.
  • A page break can be generated. This is helpful when printing a page.
  • Content can be searched for or replaced.
