Insert links

First, open the edit mode of a page. The following functions will then be available in the editor.

Link to an existing Q.wiki wiki or file page

  1. Select the text that should serve as the link.
    • The link text and the name of the linked page can be different – for example, the text More information can link to a page named "FAQ".
    • If you don't select any text, the title of the linked page will be displayed after you create the link.
  2. Click the Links button in the editor.
  3. Select Q.wiki Content. First, choose the module from which you want to link content, then select the corresponding content. If needed, you can also define different link text.

  5. Search for the page to link using auto-complete.
    • If necessary, select the Area where the page is located.
    • After you type three characters, matching suggestions appear.
  6. Confirm with OK.
    • You can edit the created link using a context menu:
      • Edit link – Change the link
      • Remove link – Remove the link, text remains
      • Open link – Open the target page in a new tab
  7. Save the page.

Link to an external page

  1. Select the text that should serve as the link.
    • The link text and the external URL can be different – for example, the text Go to external resource can link to a website outside Q.wiki.
    • If you don't select any text, the URL will be displayed after you create the link.
  2. Click the Links button in the editor.
  3. Select URL.
  4. Enter the URL of the external page.
  5. Confirm with OK.
    • You can edit the created link using a context menu:
      • Edit link – Change the link
      • Remove link – Remove the link, text remains
      • Open link – Open the target page in a new tab
  6. Save the page.

Link to an email template (mailto-links)

  1. Select the text that should serve as the link.
  2. If you don't select any text, the link text from the dialog will be displayed after you create the link.
  3. Click the Links button in the editor.
  4. Select Email.
  5. Fill in the fields in the dialog. If needed, you can enter a test email address.
  6. Confirm with OK.
    • You can edit the created link using a context menu:
      • Edit link – Change the link
      • Remove link – Remove the link, text remains
  7. Save the page.

Link to a heading in the content

Important: This function is not currently supported.
