For the following functions, the edit mode of a page is opened first.

The procedures explained below refer to the screenshot.


Linking an existing wiki or file page in Q.wiki

  1. Select the text to be used as a link on the page.
    • The text and the page to be linked do not have to be identical. 
      • E.g.: Click here on the page to link to a page in the Q.wiki.
    • If no text is marked, the title of the linked page will appear in the page after the link is created.
  2. Click on the Links button in the editor.
  3. Select Q.wiki content.
  4. Search for the page to be linked using autocomplete. 
    • If necessary, select the web in which the page you are looking for is located.
    • After entering three letters, the dialog will provide suitable suggestions. 
  5. Confirm with OK.
    • The created link can be edited via a context menu
    • Edit link: change the link.
    • Remove link: the link is removed, the text remains.
    • Open link: opens the target page of the link in a new tab.
  6. Save page.


Link an external page

  1. Select the text to be used as a link on the page.
    • The text and the external page to be linked do not have to be identical. 
      • E.g.: Clicking here on the page becomes a link to a page outside the Q.wiki.
    • If no text is selected, the URL of the linked page will appear in the page after the link is created.
  2. Click on the Links button in the editor.
  3. Select URL
  4. Enter the URL of the external page. 
  5. Confirm with OK.
    • The created link can be edited via a context menu.
    • Edit link: change the link.
    • Remove link: the link is removed, the text remains.
    • Open link: opens the target page of the link in a new tab.
  6. Save page.


Linking an e-mail template (mailto links)

  1. Mark the text to be used as a link on the page.
  2. If no text is marked, the link text from the pop-up dialog will appear in the page after the link is created.
  3. Click the Links button in the editor.
  4. Select E-Mail.
  5. Fill in the fields in the pop-up (enter a fake e-mail address if necessary).
  6. Confirm with OK
    • The created link can be edited via a context menu.
      • Edit link: change the link.
      • Remove link: the link is removed, the text remains.
  7. Save page
