This guide shows you how to add clickable areas and links to images in Q.wiki.
Prerequisites
- You are in Edit mode of a page
Step-by-step
- Add your image to the page using drag & drop or by clicking Upload image.
- Click on the image, then click Insert/edit image map at the bottom edge of the image (the small puzzle icon).
- Define the areas you want to make clickable. Choose from three shapes:
- Rectangle: Two clicks for opposite corners
- Circle: Two clicks for center and radius
- Polygon: Each click sets a corner point. Set the final corner with a double-click or Shift + Click
- Link the defined area:
Q.wiki Content or URL
For Q.wiki content, search and select the correct page in the Q.wiki Content or external URL field. You can paste external URLs directly into this field.
Important: You can link to drafts – the link will not change when the page is approved. Change proposals cannot be linked.Title (optional)
Enter a mouseover text that appears when users hover over the linked area.
Display in (optional)
Choose which browser window opens the linked page. Options:
- This window: Opens in the same tab
- New window: Opens in a new tab
- Top window: Opens in the top window (relevant for framed content)
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add more clickable areas to the image.
- Click OK to save the image map.
Result
Your image now has clickable areas that guide users to the defined content or URLs.
