The integrated translation feature in Q.wiki allows you to automatically translate page content into your preferred target language. This function can remain enabled permanently and supports seamless collaboration in multilingual teams — without maintaining content in multiple languages manually. The AI-package is required for this feature.
Activate Translation
- Click the language icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select “Translate to: ”.
- Example: “Translate to: English”.
Once selected, the current page is translated immediately.
Show Original
If you want to view the original content, you can deactivate translation mode at any time:
- Open the language menu again.
- Select “Show original”.
Alternatively:
When a page is translated, a notification banner appears at the top of the page. You can also switch back to the original from there.
Change Target Language
You can change the target language at any time:
- Open the language menu
- Select “Change language”
- Select a new target language. The following languages are currently available:
- German
- English
- Dutch
- French
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Swedish
- Polish
- Czech
- Italian
- Bulgarian
- Serbian
- Slovak
- Slovenian
- Hungarian
- Romanian
- Croatian
- Ukrainian
- Turkish
- Chinese
- The new language will be used for all future translations.
Automatic Detection & Behavior While Navigating
The translation feature can stay enabled permanently. Q.wiki automatically detects the language of the source content and only performs a translation when the original language differs from your selected target language.
- If the original content already matches the target language
→ No translation is performed, and no banner is shown. - If the content is in a different language
→ Q.wiki automatically translates it and displays a translation banner.
This ensures smooth navigation across pages without frequently adjusting settings.
What Will Be Translated?
Q.wiki currently translates:
- Page titles
- Page content
This covers all core text-based information within a page.
Limitations

- Roles
- Subpages
- Searchgrids
- BPMN diagrams
- Metadata
- Glossary (not functional in translation mode)
- Add-on module content
- Attachments and file pages
These elements remain displayed in their original language.
