Use AI overview in search queries

Modified on Tue, 14 Apr at 11:17 AM

The quick search in Q.wiki can answer your queries directly – with an AI-generated summary based on the content of your Q.wiki. This article explains how the feature works and what limitations you should be aware of.

Prerequisite: The AI summary feature is only available to customers with a booked AI module. Without this module, the feature is not displayed in search.

How it works

  1. Enter your question or search term in the quick search.
  2. Confirm with Enter or click the Ask button.
  3. If sufficiently relevant content is found, Q.wiki generates a compact summary directly above the classic search results.

The summary transparently shows which pages were used as sources. From there, you can jump straight into the respective content.

Limitations

Search query

TopicDetails
Maximum lengthInput is limited to a maximum of 150 characters.
Minimum lengthSingle-word queries do not generate an AI summary. Phrase your query as a question or use multiple terms.

Response

TopicDetails
Maximum lengthThe generated summary contains a maximum of 2,000 characters.
LanguageThe response language matches the language of your search query.
Source scopeThe summary is based exclusively on the top 5 search results. Content outside these results is not considered.
Document sizeFor very large documents, a maximum of 45,000 characters of content is evaluated. Content beyond that limit is not included in the summary.
Relevance checkQ.wiki intentionally does not generate a summary if the content found is not sufficiently relevant to the search query. This protects you from incorrect or misleading answers.

Permissions

The AI summary exclusively uses content that you have direct access to as a user. Content you are not authorised to view is not included in the response.
