This feature eliminates the need for additional communication channels alongside Q.wiki. Discussions about processes take place directly in Q.wiki, so all information stays in one place. This promotes exchange within the platform and increases interactivity.
The comment feature is located in the right sidebar. You can expand it to create and reply to comments.
Comments and replies
- A comment consists of a heading and a description.
- The simplified editor offers basic formatting (bold, italics, underlined, lists) as well as internal Q.wiki links and external links.
- Comments remain independent of the page status (draft, proposed change, approved version).
- Comments can be marked as completed and are then deleted.
- Individual comments can be replied to as often as desired.
- Replies use the same editor with the same formatting options.
Notifications
- The page owner automatically receives a notification when a new comment is posted on their page.
- All participants (page owner, author, author of a reply) in a comment receive a notification when there are new replies to the post.
- A small Batch in the comment function in the right sidebar visually indicates when there are comments on a page.
The comment function allows feedback to be provided directly in Q.wiki. This keeps every discussion clear, and notifications ensure that relevant people are informed.
Mark comment as resolved
Comments can be marked as resolved by the page manager and the key user. This will delete the comment!
Limits
- A maximum of 10 active comments can be created.
- A maximum of 30 replies can be posted under a comment.
- There is a character limit when writing a comment or reply. This depends on formatting and the use of links. The system will warn you if you exceed the allowed number of characters. The less formatting you use, the more characters you can insert.
Comments in the approval workflow
Users can add comments within the approval workflow in the change proposal for a page.
- This allows comments to be forwarded to the page owner, key users, and, if necessary, the QMGroup.
- These comments relate to the approval of the new content.
- The comments are listed in the page history in the corresponding processing step.
