The prerequisite for this is that Q.wiki Connect has been ordered via our sales department and activated in the system via the admin.
Q.wiki Connect can be booked here.
7. now Q.wiki Connect can be called up at any time via the icon on the right-hand side of the browser.
Using Q.wiki Connect
Q.wiki is now connected to the browser and extends its functionality with regard to the Q.wiki documentation. Q.wiki Connect recognizes all external links that are integrated in the Q.wiki documentation, i.e. all links to external websites that are part of process descriptions or work instructions.
If a website, service or application that is linked in the Q.wiki documentation is opened in the browser, Q.wiki Connect automatically recognizes in which Q.wiki content this URL appears. The extension suggests using the corresponding Q.wiki documentation for support.
Q.wiki Connect differentiates between direct and indirect links to websites:
- Direct links (green): These are created when the path of the page matches the address linked in Q.wiki exactly.
- Indirect links (blue): These are recognized when the domain of the page accessed matches a domain linked in Q.wiki, even if the path does not match exactly.
Through this intelligent recognition and differentiation, Q.wiki Connect supports users in accessing relevant Q.wiki content whenever websites linked to the documentation are accessed. This function considerably facilitates and accelerates access to the necessary information.
Further setting options
If Automatic expansion is activated, Q.wiki Connect opens automatically as soon as a direct link is recognized on a website.
Click on the lock symbol to disconnect from the paired Q.wiki. The Q.wiki that is visited next will then automatically reconnect.
Clicking on the synchronize icon triggers a manual synchronization of the recognized links from Q.wiki content. This can be useful if a new link has been stored in Q.wiki and this new link is to be used immediately with Q.wiki Connect.
