View or Compare Revisions
Q.wiki's version management allows you to track changes to pages, compare earlier versions, and restore older revisions when needed.
Prerequisites
- You have access to the Q.wiki page whose revisions you want to view.
- Depending on the action, you may need editing rights or approval rights on the page.
Step-by-Step
- Open the Q.wiki page and click History in the right sidebar.
- The Revisions view opens with a list of all edits:
- Revisions start at 1 and are numbered chronologically.
- Each edit increases the revision number by one.
- Use the slider to filter the list by approved revisions.
- Select a revision and use the three-dot menu on the right for the following actions:
- View – Opens the selected revision for preview.
- Compare – Shows the differences between two revisions highlighted in color.
- Show read confirmations – Overview of received and pending read confirmations for this revision.
Restore a Revision
Use the Restore function to recover an older version of a page and compare it with the current state.
Important: A restoration can only be done as a change proposal and must then be approved through an approval workflow. Restoration without approval is not possible.
Step-by-Step
- Open the History of the page (see above).
- Select the revision you want to restore.
- Click Restore in the three-dot menu.
- A change proposal is created containing the selected revision.
- Approve the change proposal to complete the restoration.
Limitation: You cannot restore a revision with the status Approved → X (transition from approved to another status).
Result
The selected revision is created as a change proposal and becomes the current page after approval.
