App Generator: Role concept for apps

To assign rights or configure notifications, it is possible to link these to explicit users or roles. The configuration of roles has the decisive advantage that subsequent changes in the application can be made more quickly and securely. If an employee leaves the company or becomes familiar with other tasks, it is not necessary to search for this person in the individual configuration masks of the Workflow Generator, but only in the application-specific role overview of the app.

To create a role, the Roles tab is opened. There, a new role is created with the button Add role. To a role belongs:

• the Name of role: the name of the role.
• The Description: an optional description of the role, e.g. what knowledge or positions are required in the company.
• Which users and groups have this role: as soon as the field is clicked, the possible groups and users from the system are displayed.

Once the role is defined, it can be used in different places in the configuration.

The role is deleted via the three-point menu.
