Overview
The Module Generator distinguishes between two key concepts:
- Configuration: A blueprint for modules. You can create, edit, and test configurations – either from scratch or based on catalog templates provided by Modell Aachen.
- Module: The result of an activated configuration. Once activated, the module remains linked to its configuration.
Tip: When you modify the settings of a configuration, those changes are automatically applied to the associated module after you save them.
List of Modules
Key Users access the Module Management via the tool menu.

In the Active Modules tab, you can see how many modules are currently being used from your booked contingent.
Important: Without a booked contingent, you can try out the Module Generator and create and test configurations free of charge – but you cannot use them operatively.
The table displays all active and archived modules with the following information:
- Title: The name of the module.
- Status: Distinguishes between Active and Archived.
- An active module can be used by the configured staff.
- An archived module is retained for documentation purposes. When archiving, you select which users may still view the archived module in the future.
- Actions: Module management
- Archive: Archives the module and releases a contingent.
- Activate: Activates the module if sufficient contingent is available.
- Delete: You can only delete archived modules.
- Configuration Status: Indicates whether the configuration contains changes that have not yet been released to the modules.
List of Configurations

The Configurations tab displays all saved configurations with the following information:
- Configuration Name: The name links directly to the module configuration.
- Last Modified: Date of the last configuration change.
- Actions: Provides the options Test and Delete.
- Test: A temporary module is created in a new browser window. This gives you a quick impression of the current configuration state without activating the module.
- Delete: You can only delete configurations that have no associated module.
- Used in Modules: Shows which modules use this configuration.
- Scope: Only relevant for multisite. Restricts visibility to a specific organizational unit.
