Module Generator: Configure table

Modified on Thu, 2 Apr at 4:20 PM

Each configured tab contains a table whose content is freely configurable. This gives you access to the data that matters most to you and allows you to navigate directly from the table to the detail view of an element. Each configured tab uses the same table layout – the content only differs based on the filters in the tab.

Configure columns

Table columns are displayed as blocks. To configure them, you can expand and collapse these blocks or change their order using drag and drop. The order in the configuration determines how the columns appear in the table – the first block corresponds to the first column.

  • Click the + New column button to add a new block at the end of the list. It opens automatically.
  • An open block is removed with Delete column.
  • With an empty configuration, the Title block is displayed by default – it can be adjusted or deleted.
  • At least one block must be configured.
Tip: Display only the essential information in the table and use the element's detail view for additional information.

Required settings per column

  • Field: The field to display in the column.
  • Column header: Text for the column heading. When you select the field, the header is automatically filled with the field name and can be adjusted as needed.
  • Link to detail view: Choose whether clicking this column should navigate to the detail view.
    • This option should be set for at least one block to allow navigation from the table to the detail view.
    • Available for the data types Text, Selection from list, and the Title option.

Predefined parameters

In addition to custom fields, you can select predefined parameters as columns:

  • Date of last edit
  • Creator
  • Creation date
  • Last editor
  • Title
  • Workflow status

General settings

Above the column blocks, you can make the following general settings for the table:

  • Default sort field: Select a field that appears in the table so the sorting remains understandable.
  • Default sort direction: Ascending or descending.
  • Number of elements per page: How many rows are displayed per page.
Good to know: Users can customize these settings for themselves within their module.
