Modul Generator: Create and configure transitions

Modified on Mon, 9 Sep at 3:43 PM

Additional transitions can be created in the list of outgoing transitions (Outputs) of a status. In this case, the status in which the transition is added, is created as the starting point of the transition. The list of incoming transitions of a status has informative character and cannot be edited.

The order of the outputs can be changed by drag&drop. The first transition in the list of Outputs, for which the user has the right to execute, is proposed as the main action in the approvel workflow.

Selecting Add transition opens the sidebar and allows configuring a new transition. A transition contains the following configuration parameters:

  • Target state: selection from the existing statuses.
  • Name: name of the transition. It is recommended to choose active wording such as Grant approval or Ask for further review.
  • Who can make this transition: Listed users are allowed to perform the transition. Users and roles, contents from fields of the type User selection as well as Creator and Last editor can be entered.
  • Notify these users and roles: Specified users will receive an email when the status changes. Users and roles, contents from fields of the type User selection as well as Creator and Last editor can be entered.
  • Show a hint before the transition: If checked, an input field appears for a message to the executing user to confirm or cancel the transition. Examples:
    • "By releasing this page, you are documenting your agreement with the project proposal."
    • "Upon release, all accompanying documents must be in place."

To edit an existing transition, it is selected. The option to Delete is located in the drop down menu next to Update Transition.
