Automatic migration of roles

You need key user rights to carry out the following steps.

INHALTSVERZEICHNIS

Basic function

Role migration is a one-time function that allows key users to migrate *unique role names in your Q.wiki to the new role widget. You can access the function via Tools > Settings.

*unique role names : The role migration only affects direct hits. There must be exactly one role in a table cell. If several roles are listed in a table cell (e.g. consultant, salesperson), the migration does not work automatically. In such cases, the text remains unchanged and a migration must be carried out manually via normal page editing.

Migration of roles

Open the tools menu and navigate to the settings. There you can start the role migration as a key user.

During the migration, all tables in the Q.wiki are searched and compared with the contents of the role application. If the role names are unique (see above), the role name is transferred to the role widget.

If you run the migration multiple times, only pages that did not exist during the last migration and were therefore not migrated are taken into account.

During the migration, the Q.wiki is locked for editing until the process is complete. The duration of the role migration depends on the number of pages in your Q.wiki, but should not take longer than 2 hours.

Migration in multisite environments

Role migration is done per site in multisite environments.

For example, if you migrate "Site 3", both multi-site and local roles will be considered.

If a role exists both cross-site and local, the local role is used in the content.
